Padma Bhushan Air Commodore (Dr) Vijaypat Kailashpat Singhania, one of the most influential figures in the corporate world of India, passed away today. His son Gautam Singhania gave this information by tweeting on X. The news of the demise of the former chairman of Raymond Group has sent a wave of mourning across the industry. Vijaypat Singhania, who took Raymond to every home as The Complete Man, breathed his last on Saturday evening.
Vijaypat Singhania was not only a successful businessman, but he was also a courageous pilot and a visionary leader. Under his leadership, Raymond Group not only established its presence in the Indian market but also gained recognition at the international level. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India. Apart from business, he had a special love for the heights of the sky, for which he was also given the rank of Honorary Air Commodore in the Indian Air Force.
The funeral will take place tomorrow
According to the official information released by the Raymond Group spokesperson and the family, the last rites of Vijaypat Singhania will be performed tomorrow, 29 March 2026. The last darshan of the family and friends will be held at 1:30 pm at Haveli, L.D. A request has been made to assemble on the Ruparal route. After this his last rites (cremation ground) will be performed at Chandanwadi at 3:00 pm.

Vijaypat Singhania had made many world records in his name. In 1988, he created history by flying a microlight aircraft solo from the UK to India. In 2005, he set a world record for reaching the highest altitude in a hot air balloon, which shows his indomitable courage. He had also served as Sheriff of Bombay (Mumbai).
