With the opening of this airport, Uttar Pradesh will become the first and only state in India with the highest number of international airports, leaving behind the country’s most progressive states Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The only state in the country where there will be 5 international airports
Presently there are four international airports in Uttar Pradesh, which are already providing their services globally. After the inauguration of Jewar Airport this number will become 5. Presently international airports in Uttar Pradesh-
- Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (Varanasi)
- Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow)
- Kushinagar International Airport (Kushinagar)
- Maharishi Valmiki International Airport (Ayodhya)

According to information received from an RTI, till the year 2017, only 4 airports were operating in Uttar Pradesh. But in the last few years there has been a revolutionary change in the field of civil aviation. Today, flights are operating from 16 airports in the state, while 3 are still under construction. These include Sonbhadra’s Mayurpur and Lalitpur airports.
Huge increase in budget by 5 times
Uttar Pradesh government has opened its treasury to strengthen air connectivity. According to data, the budget of the Directorate of Civil Aviation has increased more than 5 times between 2017-18 and 2025-26. This is the reason why UP is going to become the leader of the country in terms of air connectivity today.
Value will increase on the world stage
The state government and the BJP organization have made grand preparations for the inauguration of Jewar Airport. It is being claimed that the public meeting to be held on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony will be the largest and historic gathering till date. The operationalization of this airport will not only boost tourism but will also create lakhs of new investment and employment opportunities in Western Uttar Pradesh.
