
Stock Market Highlights 9 March 2026: After the outbreak of war in the Middle East, the trend of decline in the Indian stock market had started, which continues even today. There was a catastrophic decline in the domestic stock market on Monday. Today, BSE Sensex closed at 77,566.16, down 1352.74 points (1.71 per cent). Whereas, NSE’s Nifty 50 index also closed at 24,028.05 points with a huge loss of 422.40 points (1.73 percent). Let us tell you that at one time during trading today, Sensex had fallen to 76,424.55 and Nifty had fallen to 23,697.80 points.
Shares of 25 out of 30 Sensex companies closed with a decline.
On Monday, shares of only 5 out of 30 Sensex companies closed in the green with gains, while shares of all the remaining 25 companies closed in the red with a decline. Similarly, out of 50 companies of Nifty 50, only 8 shares closed in the green mark with a rise and the shares of all the remaining 42 companies closed in the red mark with a fall. Among the Sensex companies, shares of Reliance Industries closed with the maximum rise of 1.37 percent, while shares of UltraTech Cement closed with the maximum fall of 5.23 percent today.

Today, among other Sensex shares, Infosys shares closed with a slight gain of 0.47 percent, HCL Tech 0.45 percent, Sun Pharma 0.17 percent and Tech Mahindra 0.09 percent.
On the other hand, shares of Maruti Suzuki 4.68 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 4.39 percent, SBI 3.92 percent, Indigo 3.83 percent, Adani Ports 3.75 percent, Tata Steel 3.75 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 3.48 percent, L&T 2.76 percent, Asian Paints 2.75 percent, ICICI Bank 2.74 percent. percent, BEL 2.32 percent, Axis Bank 2.09 percent, HDFC Bank 2.09 percent, Titan 1.90 percent, Bajaj Finserv 1.62 percent, Hindustan Unilever 1.44 percent, Power Grid 1.32 percent, Bajaj Finance 1.22 percent, ITC 1.18 percent, TCS 1.17 percent, Trent 1.08 percent, NTPC Shares of 1.05 percent, Eternal 1.01 percent and Bharti Airtel closed down 0.23 percent.
