If your account is in Punjab National Bank (PNB) and you withdraw money from ATM with debit card, then this news is important for you. PNB has decided to reduce the daily cash withdrawal limit on some debit card variants. According to the bank, this new rule will come into effect from April 1, 2026. However, this change will not be applicable on all cards, rather the limit of only selected debit cards has been reduced. The bank says that this decision has been taken to increase customer security, reduce the risk of fraud and promote digital transactions.
On which cards the limit reduced from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50 thousand?
PNB has reduced the daily cash withdrawal limit from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50,000 on some debit cards. These include many popular cards. These include RuPay NCMC Platinum Domestic Debit Card, RuPay NCMC Platinum International Debit Card, RuPay Women Power Platinum Debit Card, RuPay PNB Palash Debit Card (Recycled PVC), RuPay Business Platinum NCMC Debit Card, Mastercard Platinum Debit Card, Visa Gold Debit Card and PNB Mastercard Platinum Rise.
Limit reduced on premium cards also
The bank has also reduced the limits of some premium debit cards. Earlier, up to Rs 1.5 lakh cash could be withdrawn daily from these cards, but now this limit has been reduced to Rs 75,000. These cards include RuPay Select Debit Card, PNB RuPay Select Neo Debit Card, PNB RuPay Select Excel Debit Card, Visa Signature Debit Card and Mastercard Business Debit Card.
No effect on other cards
PNB has clarified that there has been no change in the ATM cash withdrawal limit for debit cards whose names are not in this list. That means the limit will remain applicable on the remaining cards as before.
Customers can also set their own limits
While providing convenience to the customers, the bank has said that they can set or change their ATM withdrawal limit themselves within the prescribed limit. For this, platforms like Internet Banking, PNBOne Mobile App, IVR Service and WhatsApp Banking can be used.
POS and online payment will not be affected
The bank has also clarified that reducing the ATM cash withdrawal limit will not affect POS machines, e-commerce or contactless payments. The limit of transactions through these mediums will remain the same as before.
