The ongoing tension in the Middle East is affecting air services around the world. Routes of many flights are being changed and passengers are facing delays. In such an environment, Air India has taken a big decision to provide relief to the passengers. In view of the increasing travel demand, the airline has announced additional international flights to Toronto, Frankfurt and Paris.
Three additional flights on Delhi-Toronto route
Air India said that three additional flights will be operated between Delhi and Toronto between March 5 and March 11. This step has been taken keeping in mind the rapid increase in the number of passengers on this route. Apart from this, three additional flights on the Delhi-Frankfurt route and one additional flight from Delhi to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) will also be operated between March 7 and March 10.
Passengers will get more options
According to Air India’s statement, these additional services will provide more flight options to passengers. Through Delhi, better connectivity will also be available to different cities of the country and many destinations in South-East Asia. The airline has said that it is continuously monitoring the situation and if needed, additional flights can be increased even after March 11.

Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Air India is changing the routes of many of its long-haul flights. Flights to North America and Europe are being routed through the airspace of Oman, Saudi Arabia and Egypt to avoid the affected areas. Due to these changed routes, the duration of flights may increase slightly, but the safety of passengers is being given priority.
Also ran relief services
Earlier, Air India had also operated special relief flights to bring back stranded passengers. Additional wide-body aircraft were deployed from Mumbai and Delhi to Jeddah and Dubai. Large aircraft like Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 were used in these flights, which have 250 to 350 seats.
