The Chief Minister said that all the government employees of the state will be given 58 percent dearness allowance from the salary of April 2026, which will be at the same as the central government. The outstanding dearness allowance from July 2025 to March 2026 will be paid in six equal installments from May 2026. Government working for the welfare of all sections
The Chief Minister said that our government is working for the welfare of all sections of the society. Many important decisions were taken in a cabinet meeting held in Barwani under ‘Farmers Welfare Year’. Important decisions were also taken in the evening in the interest of employees and pensioners. The Chief Minister also wished Holi to the people of the state.
What is DA?
The full name of DA is Dearness Allowance. This is a cost-of-living adjustment allowance given to employees to compensate for the rising prices of goods and services. It is a percentage of the basic salary which is adjusted from time to time to match inflation rates. To reduce the impact of inflation, the allowance is calculated as a percentage of the regular salary.
Let us tell you, the Central Government increases Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees twice every year – effective from January and July. However, these increases are usually not formally announced in the same month. Traditionally, the government has been announcing DA increase before big festivals like Holi or Diwali, so that employees can get financial relief during the festivals. However, this is not possible every time.
