The US congressman said, “Our workers and youth are increasingly displaced and disenfranchised because of the H-1B visa, which benefits companies and foreign competitors at the expense of our workforce. We cannot sustain the dreams of our children as long as we keep handing over their share to non-citizens. That is why I am introducing the ‘EXILE Act’, so that hardworking Americans can be given priority again. America imposed new and strict restrictions on H-1B visas
The Trump administration has stepped up its crackdown on both legal and illegal immigration and imposed new and tougher restrictions on visas such as H-1B. Trump last year signed a proclamation calling abuses of the H-1B visa program a threat to national security, imposing a fee of $100,000 on new H-1B visas. The move caused widespread panic, confusion and anxiety among Indian professionals. The statement said that more than 80 percent of those receiving H-1B visas are Indian or Chinese nationals, with preference given to young workers.
