
There is good news for railway passengers. The Railway Ministry has approved a new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Rajasthan and Gujarat. The ministry has given green signal to the new semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express between Udaipur City and Asarwa (Ahmedabad). This train will be operated by North Western Railways and will give a tremendous boost to the economy, tourism and trade of the region. The train is going to start as a regular operation. This will strengthen regional connectivity and also boost the local economy.
Two Vande Bharat train services will stop from this week
According to Indian Express news, with the introduction of the new Udaipur-Asarwa Vande Bharat train, Indian Railways has decided to discontinue two existing Vande Bharat Express services. According to North Western Railway, Train No. 20981/82 (Udaipur City–Agra Cantt–Udaipur City) Vande Bharat Express will stop from 15 February 2026 and Train No. 20979/80 (Udaipur City–Jaipur–Udaipur City) Vande Bharat Express will stop from 14 February 2026.
Udaipur–Asarwa Vande Bharat Train: Timings and Frequency
Udaipur City–Asarwa (Ahmedabad)–Udaipur City Vande Bharat Express will run 6 days a week (except Tuesday).

Departure: 6:10 am
Arrival: 10:25 am
Train No. 26964 (Asarva to Udaipur City)
Departure: 5:45 pm
Arrival: 10:00 PM
Where will the train stop?
According to North Western Railway, this Vande Bharat train will stop at Jawar, Dungarpur and Himmatnagar stations. The maximum speed of Udaipur-Asarwa Vande Bharat Express will be up to 160 kilometers per hour. This train will provide fast, comfortable and premium travel experience to the passengers.
