Railways’ UTS app, which is used for booking tickets for rail travel every day, is going to be closed from March 1. Railways has said in the message issued to the passengers that after this the RailOne app will be the only, integrated and official mobile platform for ticket booking and passenger services. Railways has urged passengers to shift to the RailOne app as soon as possible, so that there is no disruption in their services.

RWallet will not be able to recharge

Users downloading or updating to the latest version of the UTS App will not be able to book tickets or recharge RWallet on the platform. However, Railways has ensured that the R-Wallet balance in the UTS app will remain completely safe. This balance will neither be lost nor expired and can be easily used on the RailOne app.

  • All Tickets in One App: Book reserved tickets, unreserved tickets and platform tickets easily.
  • Secure and Easy Payments: UPI, Debit/Credit Cards, R-Wallet and Net Banking.
  • Live Train Information: Train status, delays, updated arrival/departure timings, coach position and platform information.
  • PNR & Refund Tracking: View PNR status (Confirmed/RAC/Waitlisted), cancel tickets and monitor refund status.
  • Ordering Food: Order food from IRCTC-approved vendors directly to your seat.
  • Complaints and Feedback: Easily lodge complaints and send feedback through RailMadad Support.

UTS Mobile App Journey

UTS Mobile Ticketing was launched on 27 December 2014. The system was then rigorously tested on various aspects of safety, security and customer experience. After the trials were successful it was gradually implemented across the entire Mumbai Suburban Railway. Mobile ticketing was then expanded to other metro cities in the country such as Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Secunderabad between 2015 and 2017. From 1 November 2018, UTS mobile ticketing also became available for inter-zonal travel, i.e. passengers can book tickets between any two stations across the Indian Railways network through mobile, just like normal ticketing.
