Staying in the country’s capital Delhi in February now seems to be out of the pocket of common people. Room rates in five-star hotels have suddenly reached record levels. The situation is such that the hotel room rent for one night has increased to more than ₹ 2.32 lakh. The reason for this is not any festival or wedding season, but a big international event being held in the capital, which has created a huge stir in the hotel industry.
Actually, India AI Impact Summit 2026 is going to be organized at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi from 16 to 20 February 2026. Thousands of delegates from across the country and the world will come to participate in this Artificial Intelligence conference. According to reports, more than 35,000 registrations have been done for this program so far, due to which the demand for hotels in the capital has suddenly increased manifold.
One night fare reaches ₹2.32 lakh
According to an Economic Times report, the base rent for a room at Delhi’s prestigious Imperial Hotel on February 16 is around ₹1.97 lakh. After adding tax, this amount reaches ₹ 2,32,518. At the same time, Hyatt Regency Delhi is charging around ₹ 50,000 for one night. The Leela Palace is offering rooms at around ₹78,000 per night including Delhi taxes.
Many hotels are already full
Data has also revealed that Shangri-La Eros Hotel is fully booked for February 18. However, the one night rate here for February 16 is said to be around ₹ 89,000 including taxes. People associated with the hotel industry say that due to the conference, a situation of full occupancy has been created on many dates.
Will host international guests
According to Vineet Kapoor, hotel manager, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, there are almost sold-out conditions on February 19 and 20 due to the AI summit and other city-level events. He said that the demand for all categories of rooms including suites is strong and many international delegates and leaders will be staying during this period.
More than 100 countries will be present
Representatives from more than 100 countries will participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026. It will include 15–20 heads of state, more than 50 ministers and representatives of more than 40 big global and Indian companies. According to the hotel management, during this period there has been an increase of 30 to 50 percent in room rents as compared to normal days.
