
Stock Market Today, 4 February 2026: After a strong rise on Tuesday, the market started trading in the red with a decline on Wednesday. On the third day of the week, BSE Sensex opened with a decline of 487.07 points (0.58 per cent) at 83,252.06 points. On the other hand, NSE’s Nifty 50 index started trading at 25,675.05 points with a loss of 52.50 points. A huge fall was seen in the stocks of IT companies in early trading on Wednesday. Let us tell you that after US President Donald Trump’s announcement of trade agreement with India on Monday, the market started trading with tremendous momentum on Tuesday. Yesterday, Sensex opened at 85,323.20 points with a jump of 3656.74 points (4.48%) and Nifty opened at 26,308.05 points with a jump of 1219.65 points (4.86%).
Tech Mahindra shares fell by 6.13 percent
On Wednesday, shares of 18 out of 30 Sensex companies started trading with a rise in the green mark, while the shares of all the remaining 12 companies opened with a decline in the red mark. On the other hand, shares of 26 out of 50 companies of Nifty 50 opened in the green with an increase and shares of all the remaining 24 companies opened in the red with a loss. Today, among the Sensex companies, shares of Power Grid opened with the maximum rise of 1.22 percent, while shares of Tech Mahindra opened with the maximum fall of 6.13 percent.
How was the start of Sensex shares on Wednesday?
On the third day of the week, the remaining Sensex stocks included NTPC 1.13 percent, Tata Steel 1.01 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.93 percent, ITC 0.89 percent, Titan 0.80 percent, Maruti Suzuki 0.71 percent, Axis Bank 0.67 percent, Reliance Industries 0.62 percent, L&T 0.61 percent, Sun Pharma Shares of HDFC Bank 0.39 percent, HDFC Bank 0.38 percent, ICICI Bank 0.36 percent, Trent 0.35 percent, BEL 0.35 percent, UltraTech Cement 0.21 percent, Bharti Airtel 0.16 percent and Asian Paints opened with a rise of 0.08 percent.
IT sector shares crash
Whereas, shares of HCL Tech 6.07 percent, Infosys 5.98 percent, TCS 5.20 percent, Bajaj Finance 2.11 percent, Bajaj Finserv 0.51 percent, Indigo 0.36 percent, Adani Ports 0.29 percent, Eternal 0.29 percent, Kotak Mahindra Bank 0.19 percent, Hindustan Unilever 0.16 percent and State Bank of India. Opened with a decline of 0.12 percent.
